Going to the opening of Zapata in harfield village tonight. Same owners as the hidden secret cafeen in 3rd Ave Harfield village. Emillio Zapata was a mexican revolutionary circa 1910-name sake restaurants in seven oaks uk od USA. Drove past earlier today and it looked rather pale for a mexican eatery-let’s hope the margharitas are revolutionary!
Zapata restaurant looks good – ambience lovely. BUT waited 15 minutes before going to the bar to ask for a waiter to bring us wine glasses. The order was given immediately but after waiting for 1hour and 25 minutes I had to go to the kitchem to ask if we might, please, have some food. Food arrived soon after that and two of the three orders were wrong. What was the maitre’d supposed to be noticing!
The opening night was chaotic but I assure you the food is fabulous and your dining experience will be enjoyed. The Margarita’s are great, chilli-poppers are delicious and the rest of the menu is just as good! Service is efficient and friendly.
