I come from Zimbabwe, and all my life I have been living in a small town. Recently I was staying in a beautiful small town called Knysna. The day that I got the good news that I had gotten a job in Cape Town, I was very happy and a little sad at the same time. There were a lot of things that made me happy but from what I was hearing from people about Cape Town, it almost made me think again.

People told me things like “Cape Town is very dangerous place; you won’t survive alone.” But deep down in my heart I knew I had to make it no matter the circumstances. I am an intelligent young male who also believes in God. This enabled me to overcome my fears. If you were to meet me walking in Cape Town, you wouldn’t think that I have only been in Cape Town one month, because I walk confidently like a Capetonian.

I walk with courage and don’t have to show people I meet that am a new comer by going around asking them the places am visiting.  I usually Google the place and see the place before I leave.

You may be confused about the picture below. Somehow it helps me so much. Can you see what it is?

Well, that’s a map I created. I always draw the directions so that I can remember when I am on my way to the place I’m visiting. As time goes on I will buy myself a smart phone . This will make my life easier because I won’t need to keep drawing maps. Everything will be just at my finger tips.

I do not have any complaints at the moment. I am enjoying the big step I took. I have been lucky to stay in a quiet and lovely place. I am looking forward to discovering more about Cape Town and visit more places.
